We provide a lifeline for our CASA children by helping them navigate the foster care system, until they are returned home and reunited with their family, or are adopted by a new Forever Family.
Our Vision
A CASA volunteer for every child who needs one.
Our Mission
CASA for the Highland Lakes Area recruits trains and supervises court appointed volunteers to advocate for children who come into the court system as a result of abuse or neglect.
OUr HISTORY
In 1991, district Judge Clayton Evans asked five Burnet County residents to form a steering committee and bring the CASA program to his courtroom.
Originally established in October of 1991, as CASA of Burnet County, the organization began with one volunteer whose voice made a positive difference in the lives of two small children who had been removed from their home due to abuse and neglect. Since that time, the organization has grown to serve five counties – Blanco, Burnet, Llano, Lampasas and San Saba and over 2,000 children and is now recognized as CASA for the Highland Lakes Area.
