Holiday Giving At Its Best in The Highland Lakes

This time of year truly is the “most wonderful time of the year” because the generosity of others is so obvious during the Holidays.  On almost every corner you hear about a group of people collecting winter clothing for the needy or making sure that families who can’t afford Christmas presents for their kids have something wrapped for each child under the tree.  It is no different with CASA and 2 groups of people, in particular, helped to make sure that some deserving folks that we know of had a belly full of turkey and sides on Thanksgiving Day.  Keller Williams Realty of the Highland Lakes, Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay donated cash and turkeys so that Thanksgiving Meals could be delivered to our deserving CASA families.  Agent Todd Liverman even provided 8 smoked turkeys to pass out to families who did not have a means of cooking their own Thanksgiving Dinner.  This made such a difference in the lives of nearly 20 families that we serve through CASA.  Flip N Swim Daycare in Marble Falls also helped to make this endeavor possible by hosting a food drive for items to accompany the turkeys.  With the help of all of these folks we were able to provide food for all of these families for their Thanksgiving Feast.

Thank you, Keller Williams and Flip N Swim, for helping us to make the Thanksgiving Holiday special for our CASA families!!!!

Now, with Thanksgiving in the past we have Christmas to look forward to for our CASA kids!  Christmas donations have already started coming in and many choose to support our CASA Angels during this time.  We have many businesses in our service area who always help with our Angel Tree Project by putting up Angel Trees to collect donations for CASA kids.  This year the businesses that are displaying our Angel Trees include: Security State Bank, Darci’s Deli, Keller Williams Realty and Trinity Episcopal Church in Marble Falls; Dragon Tails in Burnet; and the Ag Extension Office in Lampasas.  There are also drop off locations for toy donations at RBank in Bertram and Lizzie’s Flowers in Burnet.  Drop off locations are being added daily, so contact our office for the most up-to-date infromation and a drop-off location near you!  If you would like to participate in “Holiday Giving At Its Best” visit one of these locations or make a donation to the CASA children’s designated fund. Your donation will help ensure that all of the abused and neglected children in our area are able to have a Christmas worth remembering!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

Kristen Harris
