Take the first step to becoming a CASA advocate:

VOLUNTEER!

We have a training class beginning in February, 2018. Contact our office to get on the list for this training!

Every volunteer passes a background check and participates in a 30-hour training course including topics on the Dynamics of Child Abuse and Neglect, Advocate Responsibilities, Family Violence, Cultural Competence, Permanency Planning, Accessing Services, and Court Proceedings. After successfully completing the training, the volunteer is assigned his/her first case. A volunteer’s average time is approximately ten hours per month. Volunteer advocates are asked to dedicate themselves to a case until it is closed. The average case lasts about a year. Advocates are supported by our program every step of the way and they always have resources readily available.
